Event Abstract
As per the MOU between PVNRTVU and Sathguru Management Consultant, Hyderabad a two days training program on Improving animal health practices for Veterinarians and Livestock Farmers to contain AMR and promote one health was inaugurated by Dr N.Rajanna, Principal scientist and Head , KVK Mamnoor by lighting of the lamp along with other dignitaries on 8-4-25 at DDS-KVK, Zaheerabad, Medak district. PC & Head oriented on AMR impact on human health through animals and urged upon the farmers to use antibiotics judiciously under the supervision of Veterinarians. ?Dr Varaprasad, PC & Head, DDS KVK briefed about importance of one health. ?Dr Vamshi Krishna, Associate professor & Head, Dept of Microbiology imparted training on Antibiotic usage in farms and risks associated with imprudent use of Antibiotics. Dr V. V.V. Amruth Kumar, Associate professor, Dept of veterinary medicine delivered lecture on Farm biosecurity. Earlier to this Dr M Kailash SMS (AS) invited the guests on to the Dias and briefed about the importance of training programme and role women in Animal Husbandry activities On second day day (09-04-25) Dr J.Sai Kiran, SMS( LPM) KVK Mamnoor & Dr M. Kailash, SMS( Animal science) DDS KVK imparted training on Antibiotic alternatives: vaccines, Pre and Probiotics and Herbal preparations. Dr Hemalatha, SMS (Home science) imparted training on Gender sensitization topic. In the afternoon session Dr J. Sai Kiran and Dr Kailash conducted a method demonstration for detecting Mastitis I.e by using on CMT (California Mastitis Test), Strip cup as tool for inspecting flakes, lumps and other signs of abnormal and application of herabolact to the udder and other herbal preparations. Dr M.Kishan Kumar, Director of Extension, PVNRTVGU, Hyderabad attended as chief guest and urged upon the farmers to implement whatever they have learnt & propagate the same at their villages to reduce the over usage of antibiotics. He along with other dignitaries on the dais distributed certificates to the participants. Dr N Rajanna PC & Head briefed about the two days training programme and emphasized the importance of ethano- Veterinary medicine to minimize the side AMR. The programme was concluded with formal vote of thanks by Dr J .Sai Kiran, SMS (LPM).
