Students from PM Sri Government School, Nekkonda, had an educational visit to KVK, Mamnoor on 12-02-2025. The visit provided an insightful experience about various agricultural practices and technologies. The students were warmly welcomed and given a detailed overview of the KVK by Dr. Rajanna PC, the Head of KVK. Afterward, the students visited all the demonstration plots established at KVK, where the respective scientists in charge explained the various demo units. Dr. Sowmya explained the functioning of the Information Center, highlighted the importance of fodder demonstration plots, and introduced the Biofloc unit, which focuses on sustainable fish farming. Dr. Arun Jyothi gave a comprehensive presentation on Nutri-gardens, emphasizing their importance in promoting healthy and organic food cultivation in rural areas. Dr. Raju showcased various farm implements, including the manual seeder, power weeder, cotton shredder, pneumatic planter, mulching unit, and vermi-compost unit. The students were actively engaged and learned how these modern tools help improve farming efficiency and sustainability. Dr. Sai Kiran took the students through the Azolla cultivation process and explained the poultry demonstration unit, describing how both contribute to enhancing agricultural practices and providing sustainable solutions for farmers. The visit concluded with a hands-on training session, where the students had the opportunity to engage in weeding and seed sowing activities, applying their learning practically. The visit to KVK, Mamnoor, was an enriching experience that provided the students with valuable knowledge about modern agricultural technologies and practices, which they can now apply in their daily lives and future endeavors.
